WHO IS TRIPLE O?

Multi-award-winning musician Triple O (Oluwatobi Oluwatobi-Oyefeso) is a London based artist who has been pioneering Christian rap music in the UK for over 15 years.  By fusing high energy raps and combining them with his trademark fast paced delivery and introspective content, Triple O is an artist with a style matched by very few.

The aim has always been to accurately communicate the gospel message and overtly Christian themes to a mainstream audience without compromising the message of hope, the essence and foundation supporting the music he makes. When it comes to the music itself,  Triple prides himself on producing honest, thought-provoking content which bridges the gap between faith-based music and non-faith-based media, thus making this genre of music palatable to a generation in dire need of tangible substance. “There is such a stigma attached to gospel music, and I am proud to call myself a gospel artist, but not in the conventional sense – at the end of the day my faith is why I do what I do.”

Triple’s music has received countless airplay on radio stations such as BBC 1Xtra, Premier Gospel, Premier Radio and Capital Xtra and to name but a few – this is in addition to international radio plays which have helped to widen his appeal in other international markets.

In April 2008, Triple O released his first official debut EP, ‘G2G – Grime to Gospel’. This went on to receive strong reviews from many media outlets and various well-respected distributors. The song ‘’Come Home’’ (which was also released as an EP – and was the first single from the debut album) -  with its countless remixes, was voted UK Gospel’s biggest song of 2011 by Premier Gospel radio.

Subsequently that year, Triple O went on to release various mixtapes, which have both culminated in a significant number of downloads in their first week’s release.  The debut album “Flatline” was released in July 2011, and did extremely well on iTunes, culminating in a UK Tour. ‘’The Flatline Roadshow’’ took Triple O on a 3-city UK tour, which ended up being a highly acclaimed venture. This was later rewarded in October 2011 with a MOBO (Music of Black Origin) award.

In the autumn of 2013 another free mixtape entitled, ‘Telescopes And White Roses’ - which assembled strong underground acclaim accumulating over 2000 downloads in its first week of release; and In May 2015, Triple O held his ten-year anniversary concert ‘’The Renaissance’’ at London’s infamous XOYO music venue which was another massive sold out success.

July 2017 saw the release of his sophomore album ‘Zero Not Equal To One’ – an album centred on mental health and depression, a theme and an area Triple has boldly been a spokesperson for ever since.

This theme was explored in greater depth on his February 2020 release ‘Cry Like A Man’, the EP which greater looked at mental health amongst males.  In between these releases Triple has been fortuned enough to tour Africa and Europe with his music, flying the flag for British music on a global scale.
